I have looked up to previous purple gang members and teammates who have been selected, and am Future Plans: I will be going into the electrical field after graduation and am looking at taxidermy schools to grow my taxidermy skills to support my taxidermy business. |

When I was young I remember seeing the Shriners at parades raising funds, I didn’t know at the time what it was for, but as I grew to understand what this organization does, I can’t think of a better cause to be a part of. Representing Burr and Burton Academy Position: OL/DL When I found out I would be playing in the Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl game, I felt really excited and proud. It was a moment I had worked hard for, not just as a player, but as someone who values the community and tradition of this game. The chance to represent my school and state in such an important event felt like the result of all the hard work, practice, and support from my coaches, teammates and family. I also felt grateful knowing this game was about more than just football, it is a way to help raise money for children in need. It is a special experience and I can't wait to give it my best. Future Plans: After I finish high school, I plan to attend a four-year college where I will pursue a Bachelors degree in Business and play football at the Division 3 level. At this current time, I have not committed to a specific school. Football has always been a big part of my life, and I want to continue, while also preparing for my future career. Playing at the college level I'm excited for the opportunity to grow as an athlete and as a student. Balancing my academics and football won't be easy, but I'm ready to work hard and make the most of my college experience. |

Representing U-32 High School Position: RB/MLB I was very excited just to be nominated to play in the Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game. When I learned that I was invited to participate, I was very proud and excited to tell my friends and family. I love playing football and am glad that I get another chance to play the game with other skilled players. Future Plans: I will be joining the Vermont workforce as a subcontractor in the construction field. |

I'm grateful to be playing alongside other great athletes in VT, but most importantly helping raise funds for the patients of Shriner's. Future Plans: Getting my CDL and entering the workforce as a carpenter. |

Representing St. Johnsbury Academy Position: QB/CB When I found out that I was chosen for the Shrine Team, it was a great honor! At that moment I knew all my hard work and dedication for the love of football had paid off. During my football season, I would often think about what it would be like to play in the Shrine Bowl. Now, I am able to make my thoughts reality and play! Making the Shrine team is also a special moment for me as I am the 1st football athlete in my family to have been chosen. I am very grateful for my high school football coach, Rich Alercio, as he helped form the football player I am today. Future Plans: I have committed to Husson University. I will play football for them and I will be studying Small Business Management. I am excited for my opportunity to play football at the next level. |

Representing Brattleboro High School Position: WR/DB/KR When I heard I was selected to play in the Shrine game, I was overcome with gratitude, accomplishment, and excitement. My first thought was that I get to play one more round of the game I love! I felt very recognized for my efforts over my football career, and I was proud that my dedication led to such a high honor. The work required to be a high level football player is grueling, and it felt good knowing that it all paid off. Also, my dad was a Shrine alumni, which makes my selection mean a lot more to me. My love for the game comes directly from him, and it’s a great feeling knowing I continued his legacy with my own career. Future Plans: This fall, I plan on attending either the University of Tennessee or the University of Virginia in pursuit of a degree in Political Science on a Pre-Law track. After that, I hope to take my talents to a prestigious law school, where I will graduate and pass the bar to become a lawyer. |

I was astonished to hear this as I was completely set on the idea that I had hung up the pads for life after the North/South game. I am thankful for the opportunity to get to suit up to play the game I love one last time. Future Plans: I have committed to attending UVM to major in Secondary Education and minor in Psychology/Sociology with the hopes that I will work in a High School or College one day. |

I was shocked I didn't think I would be selected for this opportunity. I immediately told my family and they were all excited for me. I got a text from my coach congratulating me. I thought that the North/South game would be my last time playing football so I am really excited to play again and give it my all. Future Plans: I will be going into the workforce working for CPI. |

Representing Rutland High School Position: WR/DB/P/KR When I learned that I would be participating in the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, it was an incredible feeling. Throughout my four years of high school football, making it to this game was always a goal of mine. This accomplishment held even more significance because my dad, uncle and grandfather had the honor of playing in the game during their senior years. Sharing the news with them made the moment even more special. Additionally, the opportunity to play in a game that raises funds for the children at Shriners Hospital is something that means a lot to me. Future Plans: For the Fall, I plan on majoring in Finance at a University away from my hometown of Rutland. |

Representing Fairhaven High School Position: LB/RB People ask, "Why do you work so hard?" Here's what I've learned: motivation is just the spark, but discipline keeps the flame alive. I discovered lasting change is tough but rewarding. I've learned how powerful my mind is and that I can achieve anything I set out to do. Training well gives me energy and a healthier diet boosts my performance. I've focused on what matters, organizing my priorities. When I was selected for the Shrine Bowl, all the hard work paid off. The excitement and pride I felt were indescribable. It wasn't just a win; it was the reward for my discipline. Being chosen for this iconic game solidified everything I worked for and proved that discipline, not just motivation, leads to success. Future Plans: My future plans include attending a 4 year college program and playing football. My studies will focus on my passion for physical health and currently I look to major in Exercise Sciences. |

I thought about calling my mom but I figured I should wait to tell her and the rest of my family in person. I am super excited to represent Middlebury and the State of Vermont in this years Shrine Game, as well as play with the guys who I've competed against for the last four years. Future Plans: After high school I will be attending St. Norbert College in Green Bay, WI and playing football, with a double major in business and finance. |

Representing Champlain Valley High School Position: C I felt honored and a sense of relief that my work throughout the season was recognized by more than just myself. I am very grateful for the opportunity and very excited. First people I told were my parents, which helped me direct my excitement into fuel to prepare for the upcoming Shrine Bowl game. I also realized I did not get here alone. Thank you to the dynamic coaching staff at CVU High School who helped me develop a strong skill set as a center and for always believing in me. Future Plans: I will be headed to Husson University to major in business and minor in criminal justice. I will also be playing football there. |

Representing Rice High School Position: Safety/QB When I learned that I was selected to play in the Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game I was overwhelmed. Knowing the great tradition and prestige surrounding this classic contest, I felt honored that I was selected to represent my state and Rice Memorial High School. To me the Shrine Bowl seems more than a football game as it promotes solid character, and service towards others, as its primary focus. I am proud knowing that all my hard work has led me to this opportunity, and that I am seen as an athlete who has the qualities and traits worthy of a Shrine candidate. I am truly blessed to be able to play with some of the greatest high school football stars in New England and join my peers on the field to honor the game and our beautiful state of Vermont. Future Plans: My plan next fall is to be attending a college or university in the northeast in pursuit of a 4-year degree, with the possibility of further study after that. I am looking at the field of exercise science or health management. I have been recruited and accepted at some schools for football and/or basketball which is very exciting! I have not made my final decision, and I am waiting to hear back from some “top choice” schools where I would most likely attend if I am accepted. I love sports and hope to be playing at some level in college. I am also interested in international study abroad possibilities but have to wait to see how that will play out. |

The opportunity to be part of this tradition and support the Shriners Hospitals for Children makes it even more special. I’m grateful for the hard work that got me here and excited to compete alongside some of the best athletes in the region. This game is not just about football—it's about giving back and making a difference, and I can’t wait to be part of it. Future Plans: I am interested in attending college to study biomedical engineering and/or kinesiology. I’m hoping to play club hockey in college. |
