Corporate Sponsorships

Every summer for the past 54 years the finest high school football players from New Hampshire and Vermont, all graduated high school seniors, have met on the gridiron in a game where the real winners are the children in the Shrine Hospitals. Since 1954 over 3,000 young men have taken part in the summer classic and have helped to make it one of the nation’s premiere all-star football games.

After visiting one of the Shrine Children’s Hospitals every player comes to realize they are not just playing for state pride. They are playing so someone less fortunate than themselves can walk and lead a normal life. As the Shrine football motto says, "Strong legs run so that weak legs may some day walk."

The Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl and in particular it’s corporate sponsors program is an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of these young men, who along with their God given talents, work hard to exemplify good sportsmanship. And, at the same time you will provide financial support for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

In the past 84 years the World’s Greatest Philanthropy" has provided quality medical care to more than 700,000 children - absolutely free of charge. This unparalleled service to mankind demonstrates what the Shrine is all about – a community truly dedicated to helping children in need.

As a sponsor, you will help to provide a foundation for the summer classic now and you will help to continue a tradition of excellence. And most important of all, you can be assured that your financial support is appreciated.

We invite you to look through this booklet; learn more about the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, and most important of all, the Shrine Hospitals. On page 8 you will see the major areas of expense incurred by the football game and on page 9 various levels of sponsorship. We hope after reading this booklet you will want to become of a Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl sponsor.

Why we decided to become a Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl sponsor:

"We have a long standing association with DHMC and know the good work Shriners do all over the world but in particular through the DHMC. While we cannot support every good cause that comes to us for assistance, we do try. We felt particularly obligated because of our sincere appreciation for help we have received from DHMC Shriners who have so freely given of their time and intellect to help us improve resuscitation technology" Ward Hamilton, Vice President Marketing ZOLL Medical Corporation

Program Goals

Like the football game itself, the sponsors program has a two-fold purpose. It provides financial support to help underwrite Bowl Game expenses, and in so doing helps to increase the amount of money which can be given each year to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Bowl Game is a team effort and we invite you to be part of that "team."

The Shriners

There are over 4,000 Shriners in New Hampshire and Vermont and on behalf of the bowl game they sell advertising for the game program; arrange for ticket outlets in local communities and buy tickets for the game. They also are responsible for organizing a spectacular pre game parade and the operation of the stadium. Several hundred Shriners are involved in this effort on an annual basis.

Shrine Bowl Alumni

The Shrine Bowl Alumni Association is made up over 3,400 former players, coaches and officials. Many of them buy tickets and return for the Bowl game on an annual basis. As their numbers increase so does their financial support and in recent year’s that has exceeded $20,000. By the end of the present decade there will be more alumni in the two-state area than Shriners and their support will become even more important.

Shrine Bowl Sponsors

A Shrine Bowl Sponsor can provide unrestricted financial support for the Game. It’s also possible to designate a donation for a particular part of the Game’s overhead. For instance, a $5,000 sponsorship will cover the cost of jackets given to each player and coach. Either way, the Bowl game and the children in the Shrine Hospitals are the beneficiaries
